A little while ago I had the pleasure of doing the makeup for these three gorgeous ladies when they did a boudoir photo shoot with Orange Passion Photography. Rosanne from Orange Passion is not only an amazing photographer but she is also a wonderful person and I could just tell that she would be a great photographer to do a boudoir shoot with. She is so friendly and sweet that it would be easy to feel comfortable even when doing such a personal photo shoot. I have also worked with them on weddings and had them come in and take photos at our Ladies Nights at Crave, and they are brilliant. Check out there work at www.orangepassion.ca.

I am so bad at remembering to take pictures of the beautiful ladies who’s makeup I do, and even worse at posting the pictures I do take. On June 25th I got the pleasure of doing the makeup for one of my very good friends bride and her wedding party. And then I got to go to the wedding and watch the fabulous couple get married. It was such a beautiful and fun wedding and I am so happy that I got to be a part of it. I have know Chad for years and have always felt he deserved the greatest lady and all the happiness in the world, and I am so happy he has found that. Sara is an amazing lady and could not be more perfect for Chad. Thanks Sara and Chad for throwing a super fun wedding and inviting Gary and I to it, we had a blast, you guys have such a rad group of family and friends!

I have done the makeup for quite a few weddings that have taken place at Maple Grove Guest House and have heard nothing but rave reviews from every bride. And this time I got to actually check it out in action and it truly is the perfect spot for the ceremony and reception. There is undercover part for dinner and dancing, and bar, a playground, horses, volleyball and basketball courts,  an area for camping and much more. The owner Shannon and her crew have seriously thought of every detail including making the porta potty area functional and pretty. Pink, pink, pink!!! One of my favorite makeup trends for spring is a bright pink lip. Fuchsia lips were the look at many of the Spring runway shows like Fendi, Jill Sanders and Diane Von Furstenberg. And latley I have been seeing celebrities like Emma Stone, Kate Bosworth, Jennifer Hudson, Camilla Belle, Rihanna and Cate Blanchett rocking the look and I just love it!

When wearing a bright lip I think it looks best if you keep the rest of your makeup clean and simple. To prevent fading, first line and fill your lips with a nude pencil and then apply the lipstick. Or for a less intense jolt of color, try a sheer gloss in a bright pink shade. This is a makeup look that can look fabulous on anyone no matter what you age or skin tone but the key to wearing this bold look is picking the right shade of pink for your coloring. Always, always, always try the color on your lips, trying it on your hand or just looking at the color in the tube won’t work because you need to see what the color looks like with your natural lip color.
