Even tho my outfit is very casual I still wanted to post these because Ashta finally let me take pictures of her…(thanks Ashta..hehe)! I could live in this top from Fluxus it is one of those items that is easy to throw on at anytime of the year, who says stylish can’t be comfy. So in my last post I mentioned that I am trying to decide what color to dye my hair and I was thinking about just going back to my natural color for a while. And then last night I had a dream I was a redhead…and I loved it!! So this morning I searched for someone with the same color I had in my dream and found these picture of Cheryl Cole and this is exactly the color my hair was in my dream. I know I would not look good with any kind of an orange red but I think I might be able to pull this plummy red color off. What do you lovely ladies think…should I go for it??

And these shorts are so perfect for summer they look great with everything and I just love them with this pretty floral cropped tank. On a side note I really need to do something about my roots…I keep procrastinating getting my hair done because I just can’t decide what color to go. Dark, light, natural??? I am a sucker for cute, comfy and stylish and this is exactly what this sweatshirt is. Unfortunately we didn’t get any good pictures from behind but it has buttons that go all down the back. While we were taking the pictures my lovely friend Andrea showed up so I got a few shots with her and then got her to take some shots of me with Ashta! So I thought I would share them with all of you. I love these two ladies, they both inspire me and make me laugh every day. Andrea moved from Vancouver to the Island for the summer and I am really enjoying getting to spend so much time with her, we have so much fun together no matter what we do. Ashta is now working at Crave 5 days a week and I couldn’t be happier, on top of being a fabulous employee, she is seriously the funniest chick I know and she always knows just what to say when I am having a bad day or am stressed out. I am so lucky to have all of the amazing friends that I have, I love you all!!
Last week I posted the recipe for the first part of this delicious meal and here as I promised is the second dish, the cheesy broccoli bowl from Brendan Brazier’s book Whole Foods to Thrive
Cheesy Broccoli Bowl
Serves 4
2 tbsp nutritional yeast
1/4 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 cup raw tahini
1 tsp brown rice, chickpea or barley miso paste (I used barley)
3 tsp lemon juice
2 tbsp coconut oil, melted
3 tbsp water, if needed
1 1/2 tsp ume plum vinegar
8 cups finely chopped fresh broccoli florets
2-3 tbsp hemp seeds
In a small bowl, mix nutritional yeast, paprika, and garlic powder together. Stir in the tahini and miso paste.
Pour in the lemon juice, coconut oil, water, and ume plum vinegar, and whisk thoroughly. If a thinner sauce is desired, add extra water, a tablespoon at a time.
Put the broccoli into a larger bowl and pour sauce on top. Toss until evenly coated.
Sprinkle with hemp seeds and serve.
Keeps refrigerated for several days.

Today the power went out for a bit at the store so Ashta and I went for a little walk to find somewhere cool to take some pictures and found this wood bench. We are trying to get more creative with the outfit posts! We definitely had some creative and hilarious ones today but they didn’t make the cut….lol! I also am trying to convince Ashta to let me put her pictures up on here but she wont let me yet…I will keep working on her tho. I love this plaid shirt from Maison Scotch, the colors are so soft and girly. And these gray jeans from Black Orchid are one of my favorite pairs for summer. How cool are these shoes? I love everything about them, the neutral colors, the mix of textures and even tho they are pretty high they are so comfortable.
