The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual Costume Institute Gala was held on Monday and this always glam benefit was as fabulous as ever. This year the theme was American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity and was co-hosted by the one and only Oprah Winfrey who wore a custom Oscar de la Renta navy silk organza embroidered gown, Patrick Robinson from Gap and Vogue’s Anna Wintour. To me this is always the best red carpet of the year and this year. Designers, celebrities and models celebrated in romantic, glamorous and daring looks and here are some of my faves. Who were yours?
Sienna Miller in Emilio Pucci dress and heels with Solange Azagury-Partridge jewelry.
Zoe Saldana in Calvin Klein with a bold gold Neil Lane cuff and cocktail ring.
Nicole Richie in Marc Jacobs Fall 2010 collection gown, clutch by the designer and a Harry Winston diamond bangle.
Sarah Jessica Parker in Halston Heritage and Fred Leighton vintage diamond bracelets.
Gwen Stefani in her own design from her L.A.M.B. line with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry and a VBH clutch.
Taylor Swift in Ralph Lauren with a clutch from the designer and Fred Leighton diamond and platinum jewels.
Blake Lively in Marchesa minidress and almost 200 carats of Lorraine Schwartz diamond jewelry.
Camilla Belle in Jason Wu, the designer was also her date for the night.
Kate Hudson in a Stella McCartney gown and matching Casadei platform pumps, finished with Fred Leighton diamond and moonstone jewels.
Alexa Chung in 3.1 Phillip Lim.
Emma Watson in Burberry.
Jessica Biel in a Ralph Lauren Colletion gown, accessorized with a clutch and heels from the designer with Fred Leighton diamonds – and the always stylish, Justin Timberlake in a William Rast tuxedo.
